Dr. Burcu Şenyapılı Özcan

BURCU ŞENYAPILI ÖZCAN: ARCHITECT / PLANNER

We are so appreciative of Burcu's support and guidance during our outreach projects under her Directorship of Architecture / Bilkent University / Ankara, Türkiye. As. an associate professor and Chair of the Department, Burcu was indispensable in her strong support of our international thesis projects throughout Türkiye, the USA and Europe.

 

During her Ph.D. studies, she studied at Carnegie Mellon University as a Fulbright scholar. Her research and writing involves architectural computing, design and design education, and architectural heritage. Her projects comprise establishing a visual reference system for architectural heritage in collaboration with Columbia University, Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, and several ongoing projects related to computer aided design with colleagues and graduate students. Her works on computer aided design and design education have been published in journals such as Design Studies, International Journal of Technology and Design Education, Architectural Science Review and Automation in Construction. Burcu is currently on leave at the University of Michigan.
